Blinded Minds
The link below was sent to me throgh email:
http://www.lepoison.com/sidaction/
As I was watching it I could not just believe what my eyes were seeing. It really left me open mouth, in a very negative way.
There’s no doubts about the wonderful job those institutions have been doing and I truly believe that is unquestionable their dedication, support and compassion for this cause as much as the importance of their work. However, I couldn’t find this video more inappropriate than it shows.
Allow me to remind us that about 500 years ago the syphilis spread out through the old world while nobody had the smallest idea what could it be the cause. It took over 200 year more to people realise it was a contagious infection transmitted through sex intercourse. The panic was installed. It was the beginning of a new behaviourism era reaching the climax on the Victorian times where the Puritanism became the word of the day. I guess, backing in time, somehow if they could, a video like this would have been made to project fear into people’s mind in order to make them believe they would be saving the human kind.
From there on, and actually not quite long ago as that, everybody should remember how hard it has been to individuals get their own social identities. Everybody should be able to remind how many bras had to be publicly burnt in order to us, now-a-days, may be able to see a video with naked human bodies on it.
Just think about how many people that might have gone further on through the link above into that movie? To a webpage written in French! Wow many people do speak French? A picture worth a thousand words and I am truly concerned about the unclear message that video is passing on.
What I saw there was a bunch of naked people, artistically and allusively having sex, inmates within a same environment where there’s only one way out.
AIDS or SIDA is not about sex! It is a virus which can be transmitted through ‘unsafe’ sex among other ways. That ‘org’ and all the ‘orgs’ and ‘ongs’ should be concerned to spread out real facts, preventions, responsible visual and written material capable to reach from a polish shoe boy to a lawyer.
Just to you get an idea how wide can it goes, I am a Brazilian citizen living in Portugal receiving freely, in my mailbox, French videos with only a very few universal recognizable words on it. Unprepared people, mothers and fathers, may have not got the message that I believed they have tried, unsuccessfully, to pass it on.
Plus, there are a whole crowd of people living incognito among us, trying to keep some dignity and sense of moving on and this false glamorous expensive artistic kind of help, today, is quite juvenile and irresponsible.
There are loads and loads of ways to make people get conscience of the real facts about he virus, about carrying in the virus, the treatments and about the decease itself.
It is imperative that mothers and fathers know that even if their children are not involved into sex orgies, multiple sex partners, common drugs and injecting sharing stuff, it takes only one contact! Just one is enough to make them get the virus.
So the message to stop the contamination should be much more than just a ‘propaganda’ about the minutes it takes to one more person get it. It should be much more open minded, responsible and above all, not making any judgments at all in order to make clear that AIDS is not a punishment, it is just something from our time in our time and even the ‘good ones’ are candidates to have it.
Shame on this 80’s kind of thing…
Have a nice week.
